With our laser dentistry, Often there is less or no need for shots or drills when removing decay and preparing the tooth for a fill.  Also the laser can often substitute for the use of the traditional scalpel and shots when performing certain surgical soft tissue procedures. Therefore, there would be no numb lip or tongue. 

The waterlase is FDA approved and it can be used, as an adjunct in most common dental procedures, such as, in root canal therapy to enhance prognosis and improve results. The waterlase MD can minimize discomfort from mouths by treating ulcers and cold sores esp. if addressed in the first 24 hours of onset.

The waterlase can also be used as an adjunct in the treatment of gum disease. It can be used on hard or soft tissue in the mouth, although it cannot be used to remove metal fillings or crowns.

The laser energy hyper-energizes the water molecules. This hydrokinetic energy produces the desired effect.
